Open-label, no control groupHumans
- Design
- Open-label, no control group
- Subjects
- 15 patients aged 60 or over with hypertension and a new prescription of herbal cannabis (mean age 69.47; 53.3% male)
- Dose used in the study
- No palmitoylethanolamide was given; herbal cannabis as prescribed
- Duration

What the authors reported
This open-label study found:
- Changes in 2-AG correlated with changes in triglycerides.
- Changes in arachidonic acid correlated with C-reactive protein and diastolic blood pressure.
- CBD consumption was negatively correlated with endogenous PEA and OEA.
- On average, three months of cannabis did not significantly change endogenous cannabinoid levels.
Limits of this study
