Case seriesHumansWith polydatin

This study tested palmitoylethanolamide together with polydatin. Its results cannot be assigned to palmitoylethanolamide alone. More combination studies.

Design
Case series
Subjects
4 women with pain related to endometriosis
Dose used in the study
400 mg of palmitoylethanolamide with 40 mg of polydatin, twice a day
Duration
90 days
What was measured
Pain intensity on a visual analogue scale, use of pain medication and related symptoms.

What the authors reported

All four patients had less pain within a month. The mean pain score fell from 77.5 mm to 35 mm, and use of pain medication fell.

Limits of this study

Four patients and no control group. The authors themselves call the results anecdotal, and their statistical model was not significant at this sample size.
