What the authors reported
The authors describe anti-inflammatory and pain-related effects through PPAR-alpha and the endocannabinoid system, and describe the safety and tolerability record as favourable. They say further work is needed on dose regimens, interactions with other drugs and long-term use, and call for more well-structured trials.
Limits of this study
A narrative review, so studies were not selected or weighed by a fixed method. It discusses newer formulations favourably, and the author list overlaps with authors of trials of those formulations. The funding and conflict statements were not visible on the page checked.
