What the authors reported
Functional status scores improved significantly. In patients who had not been hospitalised and did not smoke, scores fell from 2.6 to 0.4. In hospitalised smokers they fell from 3.8 to 2.2. No side effects were reported.
Limits of this study
A retrospective before-and-after study with no control group. The authors state that spontaneous recovery cannot be excluded, and long COVID often improves with time. 33 patients. The study reported no funding, and the authors declared no conflicts.
